“Following in my great grandfather's footsteps has been incredibly fulfilling. I wish for my daughters to have the same happiness I had growing up on the Farm.”

Darren Earl's upbringing was marked by the invaluable experiences he gained while working on the farm alongside his grandfather each summer. From repairing what was broken to repurposing aging tools, Darren learned the true meaning of hard work and the virtues it instilled. It was on those long, sun-drenched days that he discovered the importance of resourcefulness and the value of honest labor. As each season passed, Darren absorbed essential lessons that would shape him into the diligent, principled individual he is today.

Whether it was mending a hole-ridden fence or fixing a rusty irrigation system, Darren acquired the skills to breathe new life into worn-out materials. He learned to look beyond the apparent flaws and see the potential for revitalization. This ability to mend allowed him to extend the lifespan of equipment and resources, benefiting both his family's farm and the environment.

Above all, Darren Earl's summers on the farm taught him the significance of an honest day's work. He witnessed firsthand how his grandfather's unwavering work ethic ensured the farm thrived through both difficult and prosperous times. Darren's resilience, determination, and commitment were honed as he toiled alongside his grandfather from dusk till dawn, never shying away from any task that presented itself.
Darren Earl carries these timeless lessons with him in his daily life as he works to improve the quality of the land, food, and how we feed our community.

Meagan JOy Orsag

Meagan Joy fondly remembers her uncomplicated and unhurried upbringing, and aspires to provide the same for her own family and community.

Third Generation Beekeeper. Was her daddy’s “right-hand” COWGIRL on the ranch. Texas Aggie #Whoop. Sourdough game is bussin’. Grows Cut flowers for gifting. Salsa Garden in the summer. picture is worth a thousand words. Love Jesus.

“This farm has brought our family and community together in ways that words can't describe. It has given us so much joy and I want to share this beautiful creation with our loved ones.”

Meagan Joy's childhood was filled with cherished memories of accompanying her father on ranch work. Riding shotgun, she would assist in checking cows, opening pasture gates, and indulging in the thrill of riding bareback on her beloved horse, Jack.

For Meagan, the mere thought of ranch work evokes recollections of crinkly bags bursting with sunflower seeds, icy bottles of Big Red, and the distinct scent of earth and worn-out leather emanating from her father's weathered boots.

In those simpler times, Meagan found solace in the uncomplicated pleasures of life. Sitting beneath the welcoming shade of an oak tree, she would observe the cattle lazily grazing while birds would swoop in and out of their nests. These treasured moments reminded her to appreciate the beauty of stillness and the tranquility it brought.
Reflecting on her grandfather's beekeeping endeavors, Meagan fondly recalls a time when he would approach his buzzing companions armed with nothing but a humble matchbox. There were no elaborate tools, no official certifications as a beekeeper; he relied on resourcefulness and an innate understanding gained through trial and error, learning directly from the bees themselves. This way of life, embracing what one possesses and finding contentment in the present, seems "foreign" within the framework of our modern world and culture.

Meagan's deepest desire is to foster a return to this unhurried and unassuming existence for her family. She envisions a community where gathering together with others is not just a fleeting occurrence, but an intentional act. By embracing simplicity and encouraging those around her to do the same, Meagan hopes to create a haven of serenity amidst the clamor of daily life. The slow, simple life Meagan aspires to embody is a gentle reverberation, beckoning her to once again find joy in the unhurried moments that truly matter.

“ We love our LEECO HONEY! The farm was so easy to order from and THEY went above and beyond to let us pick up honey in time for Thanksgiving. My kids loved it and had to have it everyday until it was gone. “
